Our Goals with our Goats:
Here at Wild Arrow Farms we striving for excellence and production. We are looking to produce a line of goats that are consistent in the show ring and hold correct conformation, We love goats who are persistent and productive milkers. We are also looking at other qualities when making our selections in which we also want to distill into our herd- longevity, health, fertility , production & good temperament being at the forefront of our mind when we choose our breeding stock. We take careful consideration of lineages as far as showing awards, conformation of bodies and udders, linear appraisals, superior genetics, milk testing, production, other awards and accolades when choosing our stock. We promise you that our endeavor and our intentions are to make the Nigerian Dwarf breed better by setting our goals to meet ADGA standards of the breed and to push beyond that. As we are starting our herd, and navigating our future we continue to fine tune our process and selection as we keep an open mind to learning. We are always pursuing additional education within the breed and herd management as an endeavor to always strive for excellence.
My husband was once in the military but decided to settle down into a more suitable family life. He worked insurance for a little bit while pursuing his education in engineering management. He now is working for a company that designs & programs automated systems. He is super handy and helps out on the farm immensely. As for myself, I am a mother, licensed massage therapist by trade and moonlight as a goat doula lol - We often trade off duties as things can get a little crazy with new babies coming into the mix ! We got into goats on the off chance I talked my hubby into it as a way of cleaning up our newly purchased hobby farm in 2015 . We brought 2 nigerian dwarf goats home, and we fell in love with their personalities, their ability to help clean up a property , and that we could milk them and maybe work on becoming more self sufficient. When we decided we wanted to start breeding to bring them into milk , I made the quick decision that I wanted to produce the best kids I could get on the ground and our little operation grew from there. I quickly fell in love with showing and doing soooooo many things with their milk. With that came my love for producing goat milk soap and putting out quality products that are rich and nourishing for the skin that I'm proud to use and share. My hubby is happy to come along for the ride !
